The 2002 harvest is considered one of Mendoza's best in decades, especially for the Malbec. Temperatures were stable, with no incidence of frost or unbearable heat, while rainfall came at good levels. The summer had some warn and dry days, with some western-exposed grapes becoming sunburned. February rains of up to 100mm in some areas were followed by consistently dry and warm weather, brining ideal conditions for the 2002 harvest. Grapes were balance with good intensity.

BLEND

Cabernet Sauvignon (56%), Malbec (40%), Petit Verdot (4%).

COLOUR

Deep, intense, ruby-red hue, almost black in the middle with mauve glints on the rim.

AROMASĀ

Warm notes of tobacco, berries macerated in brandy, cherry stones, and homemade jam against a backdrop of oaky, slightly spicy aromas of cedar, tobacco and bay leaves.

PALATE

Full, rich and warm with lots of freshness. Sweet, ripe tannins mingle harmoniously with the oak, making this wine a truly great vintage, beautifully rounded off by a long finish.
